From budget to notary: what to know before you buy, in short.
1. Set your budget
Include the extra costs too: the notary, registration and the agency fee.
2. Choose the area
Think about schools, work, parking and noise. Visit the area at different times of day.
3. View with the agent
Ask about the year of construction, shared building costs and which way the flat faces.
4. Check the documents
Ask for the ownership certificate from the cadastre (ASHK) and make sure the property has no charges against it.
5. At the notary
The contract is signed at a notary and then registered with the cadastre. Once registered, the property is yours.
